Ivan Poupyrev, Ph.D., is the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer of Archetype AI, with 20+ years of experience in research and product development. An award-winning inventor, engineer and technical leader, he spearheaded technology development for Google’s ATAP, Walt Disney Imagineering, Sony, and others. Ivan holds an M.S. in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from Moscow Airspace University and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Hiroshima University.

Brandon Barbello serves as the Chief Operating Officer with a track record of 13+ years as a senior product leader shipping innovative hardware, software, and AI products at Google and various startups. Most recently, he managed privacy-preserving on-device AI projects at Google. Before his time at Google, he founded multiple companies in advanced sensing and fintech.

Leonardo Giusti, Ph.D., is Archetype AI’s Head of Design with over 15 years of experience as an award-winning design and research director, excelling in transforming R&D projects into innovative hardware, software, and AI products. Prior to Archetype AI, Leonardo held key design roles at Google’s Advanced Technology and Projects, and Samsung Design. He was a Postdoctoral Associate at MIT Design Lab and completed his Ph.D. in human-machine interaction at the University of Florence.

Jaime Lien, Ph.D., has an extensive background inventing, developing and shipping novel sensing technology for perception and interaction. Prior to Archetype AI, Jaime was the Radar Lead of Project Soli with Google’s Advanced Technology and Projects and a Communications Engineer with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Jaime received a B.S. and M.Eng. in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.

Nick is the Head of AI & Software at Archetype AI, bringing 15+ years of experience in driving innovation and productization of AI and interaction technology. Before Archetype AI, he led machine learning research at Google's Advanced Technology and Projects, contributing to award-winning products like Soli, Jacquard, and Pixel. Nick was a Post-doctoral Associate and Fulbright Scholar at the MIT Media Lab, completed his Ph.D. in machine learning for real-time gesture recognition in 2011, and has published in top journals and conferences across machine learning and HCI, such as the Journal of Machine Learning Research, SIGRAPH, UIST, CHI, and Nature.
